1950s Vintage New Look Black Velvet Coat

You will turn heads in this smart classic from the Fab Fifties! It is a hourglass New Look style dressy coat, done in plush, fine black velvet. The super soft velvet is probably a rayon or rayon silk.

The coat is fitted, with roomy sleeves, almost dolman shape. It has a nipped-in waist, and is full at the bottom. The skirt of the coat has an inner liner with a bit of stiffness to keep the full look.

The coat closes with black buttons with rhinestone centers. It is fully lined with lavender/pink rayon satin. There are two satin lined pockets at the side seams at hip.

In #1 excellent condition: a few very minor crushed velvet spots on the skirt, but it looks like it was very rarely worn, if ever.
